Biography
Danielle Costa is the Vice President of Visual Effects and Animation at Marvel Studios. She has dedicated more than 19 years to the craft of visual effects, animation, production, and postâproduction. She joined Marvel Studios in 2009 and steadily rose through roles from visual effects coordinator on productions such as Spider-Man 3 (2007) and Speed Racer (2008), to visual effects executive and eventually Vice President of Visual Effects and Animation, a role she has held since 2019. Over more than a decade at Marvel, she has contributed to nearly thirty Marvel feature films across all phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Thor (2011), The Avengers (2012), Iron Man 3 (2013), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), and Black Panther (2018), among others. In her leadership capacity at Marvel, Costa has overseen the development and integration of studioâside pipelines that streamline visual effects, animation, stereoscopic 3D, postâproduction, and digital intermediate workflows. She has also been a key figure in exploring emerging technologies such as virtual reality to enhance storytelling capabilities at Marvel Studios. Her responsibilities extend into Marvelâs animation division, where she has served as a producer on series such as XâMen â97 (2024), What If...? (2021âpresent), I Am Groot (2022âpresent), and Your Friendly Neighborhood SpiderâMan (2024). Notably, she earned a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award as producer on XâMen â97, under the category Outstanding Animated Program in 2024.
