Summary
Le Malade Imaginaire, the last dramatic work written by MoliĂšre, is a comedy-ballet in three acts and in prose, created on February 10, 1673 by the Troupe du Roi on the stage of the Palais-Royal in Paris. Argan, an "imaginary patient", wants to marry his daughter AngĂ©lique to a doctor, Thomas Diafoirus. His second wife, BĂ©line, would like to send her daughter-in-law to the convent in order to recover a nice inheritance. AngĂ©lique loves ClĂ©ante, and BĂ©ralde, Argan's brother, tries to reason with his brother so that he sees more clearly in BĂ©line's game, and so that he accedes to his daughter's wishes. â
